Labour’s Sadiq Khan Elected Mayor Of London, Beats Dame Tessa Jowell
London: Labour Party candidate Sadiq Khan, the former shadow justice secretary, has been elected as mayor of London for by beating former front runner Dame Tessa Jowell among other hopefuls.
According to foreign media reports the former shadow justice secretary Sadiq Khan has been elected as mayor of London, beat other hopefuls including Tessa Jowell and David Lammy in party elections by grabbing 58% votes while his opponent Tessa Jowell pocketed 41% votes but didn’t survive for London mayoralty.
Sadiq Khan has stated after winning the London mayoralty polls that he was overwhelmed and didn’t even dream for standing as Labour candidate for mayor, he won the fifth round of voting with a very clear margin from 58% to 41%.
Khan added that his priorities were very much clear and obvious which can’t be undermined more including an affordable home, more jobs having highest wage rate, more successful business and to secure and safe London environment, less polluted and more healthier.

Dame Tessa Jowell has left behind among the other hopefuls for London mayoralty who though that her work to bring Olympics to London in 2012 made her reputation too strong enough to beat anyone against her but Khan not only won with registered supporters and affiliated section but also great support from members section.
