Miss Georgia Betty Cantrell Crowned Miss America

Atlantic City: Miss Georgia Betty Cantrell has been crowned Miss America by competing among all fifty states of United States, last year’s Miss America, Kira Kazantsev, crowned her in the pageant.

Betty Cantrell has won the Miss America title on Sunday in a pageant, completing the women came from all of fifty states of America while Kira Kazantsev, Miss New York winner of last year’s Miss America title, has crowned her which wet the eyes of ne winner.

According to latest foreign news Miss America has been elected in a pageant on Sunday crowning the Miss Georgia Betty Cantrell for the honor, who made an opera performance of ‘Tu Tu Piccolo Iddio’ from ‘Madame Butterfly’ at night to title in Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall.

Cantrell competed all of women came from fifty states of America while won a preliminary competition earlier in the week along with her opera performance making her Miss America.

She stated to media just after crowned Miss America that she is still so overwhelmed and don’t know what to say at that time but only thank you, a $50,000 scholarship went to her along with title of Miss America.

Vanessa Williams, the first African American woman to wear the crown, was also return to pageant she has been left a side by resigning the crown following a nude photo scandal in 1984 while she maintained that the photos published by Penthouse Magazine in 1984 were unauthorized.

Pageant executive chairman Sam Haskell has apologized the singer and actress for everything that has been said or done against her at that time following the scandal which saw her resignation from the Miss America, she has served as head judge of the recent pageant.

Miss Georgia’s victory also ended the dominance of New York at the Miss America pageant who has crowned consecutively for last three years while new winner will inherit 20,000 miles of travel per month following her appearance at various events with her title.

Miss Mississippi, Hannah Roberts was the 1st runner-up who earned a $25,000 scholarship while 2nd runner-up was Miss Colorado, Kelley Johnson, who won a $20,000 scholarship because of her entire classical performances.
