A Canadian Citizen Shot Injured By US Officers At Border Bridge
Washington: United States police officers has shot and wounded a Canadian citizen, who waved handgun replica towards officers at Border Bridge.
According to foreign media a Canadian man has been shot at Border Bridge by US officers on early Sunday as he didn’t leave his replica handgun after been warned, the officers first said that he holds a gun in his hand pointed towards officers.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers has opened fire to unidentified person after warning and wounded his arm, hospitalized immediately and then taken into custody, CBP spokesman Kris Grogan said while he didn’t revealed the identity of Canadian man.
Authorities clarified the incident that the man stopped his car near the Ambassador Bridge, which links Detroit to Windsor, and walked towards CBP officers holding the thing look like hand gun in his hand, the officers warned him to drop the weapon but his pointed it towards officers, however the investigators disclosed that it was replica.
Earlier, just before the Bridge incident, Windsor police reported an encounter with same man holding the same replica gun which appeared to be a firearm; however, the Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Customs and Border Protections Office of Internal Affairs and the Detroit Police Department are inspecting and investigating the happening..
