The prosecutor in the Supreme Court of Spain ruled Wednesday against the high court accepted for processing two claims of paternity filed with said court against King Juan Carlos, corresponding to a Belgian citizen, Ingrid Sartiau as a Spanish citizen Alberto Sola.

The Civil Chamber of the Supreme Court requested a report on the tax jurisdiction over the matter, to which the prosecutor replied in the affirmative, and then on whether to accept the demands for processing depending on the background of the two claims, to the prosecutor responded negatively.

According to the prosecution, no “prima facie case” to consider the demands. Now the court has to pronounce on the admission taking into account the applicants’ arguments.

As to the jurisdiction of the court, King Juan Carlos is graduated to the high court since last July, when the Spanish Parliament passed legal reform to include among which gauged only be judged by this Court- to King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia, in addition to the Queen and Princess Letizia of Asturias.

The claims were rejected by judges of first instance to the inviolability of the monarch established by the Constitution and to the loophole that sought redress this reform.
