Four Hurt In Brawl Between India-Pakistan Fans Watching World Cup Match At Sydney RSL
Sydney: Four people got injured in a tussle while watching Pakistan and India match on television at RSL club in Sydney.
According to Police reports the fight broke at Merrylands RSL Club Sydney when spectators were watching the much awaited cricket match between India and Pakistan. Almost 40 people were involved in the fight out of which 4 got seriously injured.
Three injured were taken to Westmead hospital and the fourth one was taken to Auburn hospital for treatment. According to police all four of the injurers are being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
According to sources, on Monday afternoon, police has arrested two men on the charges of inciting people, causing brawl and for causing grievous bodily harm. Investigations are going on and there is likelihood that more arrests will take place.
The cricket match between India and Pakistan is considered as one of the most anticipated match of the world cup event. According to sources more than one billion of the audience saw the match on television screens around the world.
Big screens were put up at different places for the viewers especially at universities and community halls along with this at many places Police took control of the places in order to avoid any kind of brawl or riots between the supporters of these two rival teams.
At the time of the match more than 180 people were watching this highly anticipated match in one of the rooms in RSL club Sydney when fight broke out between two groups.
Fight started when two perpetrators stood up and threw a stool at someone and then immediately left the club. The two persons who threw the stool had been identified throw CCTV cameras that were placed inside the club.
According to the CEO of the club such behaviors from customers are unexpected and such people are not welcomed in his club any more. He prays that such incidents won’t take place anytime in the future.
