New Clashes Between Protesters and Police in Hong Kong

A group of pro-democracy protesters in Hong Kong stormed the Legislature of the city in a new escalation of tension after a period of relative calm.

The activists are demanding free elections for the next leader of the city in. It is the first time that the protesters managed to get into a major public building.

Anti-riot police, some with shields and helmets, used pepper spray and batons to prevent the entry of other protesters.

Journalists in Hong Kong say that the police should still take action protest elsewhere in the city.
