Qatar Recalls Ambassador To Egypt Over Libya Air Strikes

Qatar has recalled its ambassador to Egypt “for consultations”, state news agency QNA said late on Wednesday, amid a diplomatic row over Egyptian air strikes on jihadist targets in Libya.

According to the resources Qatar recalled its ambassador to Cairo after the Egyptian envoy to Arab Leagues criticized Doha of supporting terrorism and showing reservation to the airstrike by Egypt on ISIS targets in Libya.

The accusation on Qatar came from envoy of Egypt in Arab League Tareq Adel. Mr. Adel criticized Doha for expressing reservation over airstrike by Egypt on ISIS targets in Libya.

However, the Qatari foreign minister gave explanation over the reservation it held on the airstrike carried on by Egypt.

Foreign minister in his speech said that Qatar expressed reservation over the air raids conducted by Egypt as Egypt did not take consultation from other Arab countries about the raids and took the decision unilaterally.

In response to Qatar, Egypt said that they carried on the air raids with mutual cooperation from Libya. Saqer al-Joroushi, head of the Libyan air force, said that the raids were conducted at the request and mutual cooperation of Libya. According to Joroshi dozens of militants have been killed in the recent air strikes by Egypt.
