Sydney Lindt Cafe Five Hostages Came Out, Police in Talks with Hostages

Lindt cafe: An assailant made hostages of nearly 30 people in the Lindt cafe in business area of Sydney, police has in talks with kidnapper.

According to foreign media reports a gunman has made hostages several persons in Sydney’s business district on Monday morning, hundreds of police officers cordoned off the area immediately as information came to them.

New South Wales Police Deputy Commissioner Catherine Burn told media five people out of the building have been examined and the information has gathered by police. She said that actual number of hostages is still unknown; this is not 30 as rumored, police is now in talks with the assailant after five hours of the incident Catherine added.

New South Wales police have instructed people to avoid the area and surrounding area residents do not open the window, besides the building of Martin Place nearby streets were also sealed.

Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott has called on the country’s national security committee and a statement declaring that the situation is critical also said the Australian citizens must be convinced that the country’s law enforcement and security agencies are trained and capable to deal with this issue professionally.
