World Cup 3rd Quarter Final: Australia Defeat Pakistan by Six Wickets
Adelaide: Australia has won World Cup 3rd quarter final against Pakistan, sensibly resisted the aggressive bowling spell of Pakistani Wahab Riaz.
In third quarter final of ICC World Cup, Australian kangaroos have defeated Pakistan by six wickets by chasing quiet short target of 214 runs set by Pakistani team at loss of all wickets in 49.5overs and reached to semi-final where it will face India.
The match played in Adelaide Oval cricket ground; Pakistan has won the toss and chosen to bat first but as usual batting end collapsed and no one can do reasonable addition to total excluding Haris Sohail and skipper Misbah-ul Haq who scored 41 and 34, added 73 bringing total to 213.
Australian players David Warner and Aaron Finch took start to chase a quiet low target of 214 but didn’t face the exceptional bowling from Pakistani team; Sohail Khan has victimized Finch while Wahab Riaz aggressive spell has bowled Warner and Clarke and sent three players to pavilion at total of 59.
Shane Watson and Steven Smith has sensibly face Pakistani bowling and played a responsible innings with 64 and 65 runs respectively, Glenn Maxwell also added 44 runs on scoreboard for his team win.
The excellent bowling from Pakistani left arm Wahab Riaz tried hard and put all his effort to oust Australia from World Cup but misfielding.
Dropped catches lead kangaroos to victory as they passed through to semi final to face another Asian team India who is in form and didn’t lose even a single World Cup match since first round.
