Nigeria Government Still in talks with Boko Haram
The Nigerian government on Monday defended its efforts to peacefully end the insurgency of Islamist group Boko Haram.
Special Affairs Minister and dialogue, Tanimu Turaki said continuing contact with some members of the group.
He added that they are exploring all avenues and that the government is doing “everything possible to protect the life and property of the people.”
Boko Haram last month rejected a government statement in which he claimed that they had agreed a truce.
According to the UN, it has been in six months more than doubled the number of people displaced by the conflict and the figure had reached 1.5 million.
