A gunman shot dead nine students while seven others were wounded when opened fire in class at Umpqua Community College in southern Oregon on Thursday morning.

According to latest foreign news a gunman has killed nine people including most of students aged from 18 to 67, the 26-year-old man opened fire in class at Umpqua Community College on Thursday morning after asking them that they are Christians, wounded seven others.

The gunman, identified as Chris Harper Mercer, has shot dead nine of people and injured seven others at Umpqua Community College in southern Oregon on Thursday morning after opening fire to them in the class, the man also killed following police shootout.

Police authorities have not identified the gunman stating that they are giving the credit to him for his fatal and horrific act, the unnamed security officer has revealed his identity to US media who was reportedly born in UK and then moved to United States as young boy.

Gunman’s father Ian Mercer was also shocked for his son’s action told to media that he didn’t expect such activity from Chris Harper Mercer who stunned him following his terrible and horrific act.

Security official has started investigations against his act found 13 firearms possibly related to him, Five pistols and one rifle were found at the spot of shooting where he was killed following gunshot with police while two pistols and four rifles are recovered from his apartment.

The motives of Chris Harper Mercer behind mass killing are still unknown while police and investigators trying to find any relevant clues which might help them to precede inquiry of Umpqua Community College shooting.

US President Barack Obama reacted to Oregon College shooting and asked for tighter gun laws stated that these mass killing are matter of routine on earth but we are the only developed nation which is still suffering from these shooting every after few months.
