PK Controversy: FIR Filed Against Aamir Khan and Director Raju Hirani
Bollywood: The most awaited movie has faced another controversy over depiction of religion, an FIR has been launched against makers.
According to Indian media an FIR has been lodged against PK makers including Rajkumar Hirani, Aamir Khan, Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Siddharth Roy Kapoor for hurting the religious beliefs of Hindus and depicting untrue facts about Hinduism.
Since the movie has released on December, 19, mixed reviews have received about story and theme of curious epic, some of viewers appreciated the unique script and acting of Mr. Perfect while other have taken it a religious debate of making it insensitive towards Hinduism.
The FIR has been lodged by Prashant Patel, secretary of Hindu Legal Cell under section 153A; 295A of Indian Penal Code claimed that comments on Hindu rituals have hurt the feelings of followers and believers of religion, ‘Jo darta hai vo hi mandir jaata hai’ has been specially mentioned as an evidence in this regard.
Aamir Khan has stated about the controversy that we respect all religions, 99% of the crew on the set was Hindu and they went ahead with the film, some of people have taken it in a wrong way.
The PK’s director Rajkumar Hirani also headed to media to clarify the theme of movie stated that ‘the core idea of the film is just that we are not born with a birthmark proclaiming we are Hindus or Muslims or Christians or Sikhs’, we just try to put some light on the life of a man under this context, he added.
