Singapore: Indian actress get caught in Singapore accused of shoplifting, she was there to attend the Bengali film festival, Darpan.

Swastika Mukherjee caught in Singapore over shoplifting, she was accused of pocketing a pair of gold earrings from jewelry outlet during shopping.

The Indian actress, who is making her debut in Detective Byomkesh Bakshy was in Singapore to attend the Bengali film festival ‘Darpan’, was go for shopping with her friend Suman Mukopadhyay, a Bengali film director.

Local media revealed that theft was reported on Saturday just after the actress shopping was over, accused her for pocketing gold earrings of cost 255 dollars, In CCTV footage it has been clearly seen that she picked, admired the earrings and then put them into her bag without paying the price.

The actress first brazenly denied the accusation said that she has paid receipt but when asked about; the receipt was nowhere as it didn’t exist, the owner said that he didn’t go for any legal penalty against the actress but only the return of gold earrings.

However, as per Singapore law if a Suspect has been found guilty of shoplifting, the person would be imprisoned for at least ten years.
This ashamed and unethical act of Swastika not only affects her image in Indian industry but also can influence her movie, Detective Byomkesh Bakshy.
