Sam Smith Dominated 57th Grammy Awards
Sam Smith and Beck turned out to be star of the nights on the Grammy awards function. On the 57th annual Grammy Awards Sam Smith and Beck were star of the night.
As Smith won four awards out of six in which he was nominated, including the award for the song of the year and record of the year award for “Stay With Me” while Beck’s Morning Phase scored a surprise victory in the Album of the Year category.
Smith received the first award of the night for the best new artist, becoming the first British act since Adele in 2009 to win the honor, hence setting the winning tone early in the night.
The famous singer of rolling star Adele was then given the Best Pop Vocal Album Grammy Award for In the Lonely Hour. However, Smith was not able to win the award for best solo performance and in fact in this category the award was claimed by Pharrell Williams. Sam was pretty happy and excited at Grammy’s for winning in four categories out of six.
“This is the best night of my life,” Smith said after receiving Record of the Year. “I want to thank the man who this record is about, who I fell in love with last year. Thank you so much for breaking my heart because you won me four Grammys”.
Like Smith many other new singers were surprised to find themselves as winner of Grammy Awards. Miranda Lambert who was overwhelmed with happiness after receiving Grammy for Best Country Album.
Similarly couple of veteran artists returned for the Grammys after first winning in the 1980’s. In addition to this Rosanne Cash, won three Grammys for her album The River & the Thread.
The Grammy’s Night as usual turned out to be a glamorous night full of surprises and acclamations for many.
