38 Girls Killed In In Crash On Way To Swaziland Beauty Pageant, Over 19 Wounded
Mbabane: About 38 girls killed in a road accident in Swaziland, while 10 other wounded seriously as all were on their way to a traditional ceremony where King Mswati III can choose a new wife, pro-democracy activists told media.
According to latest reports, the deadliest car crash took place on late Friday as a collided into their vehicle on the highway between the tiny kingdom’s two main cities, Mbabane and Manzini that also goes to the traditional Reed Dance.
The Swaziland Solidarity Network’s spokesman, Lucky Lukhele told media, “A total of 38 young girls have been pronounced dead, with more than 20 others seriously injured,”
Swaziland Solidarity Network reportedly campaigns for democracy in the surrounded by kingdom within South Africa, while Lukhele explained more that girls were traveling in an open truck which collided into a sedan car stopped on the road.
The girls was to perform Reed Dance in a event which to be held on 31, August which considered a beauty pageant that arranges for polygamist king who sees a bench of virgins during the dance ceremony to elect one of them as new wife.
If reports are to be believed the African last appointed king Mswati had previously elected his 14th wife during the huge celebration in 2013.
Mswati addressed huge crowd at sidelines of a trade festival in Manzini, the second largest urban centre in Swaziland, after the incident assured their families who are suffering server sorrow over the killings of their loved ones that governance will completely support them.

Police spokesman Khulekani Mamba also replied that information cannot be revealed yet as these girls were on royal duty when died—- hence information will be kept secret.
