GHQ Attack Case 2 Convicted Terrorists Hanged In Faisalabad
Islamabad: Two convicted terrorists have been executed in Faisalabad prison on Friday evening, first hanging of any terrorist since 2008.
Pakistani media reported that two major terrorist Aqeel, known Dr. Usman and Arshad Mehrban have been hanged by Faisalabad authorities on Friday night as they received black warrant against them from interior ministry of Pakistan.
The terrorist Dr.Usman was found guilty in his role in 2009 attack on Army headquarters in Rawalpindi while Arshad Mehrban has involved in attack on former COAS and Prime Minister Pervaiz Musharraf. Both convicts have been transferred to district jail in tight security for hanging, executed in presence of Government doctor, district authorities and jail officials.
The first execution of any major extremist has been made on Friday since 2008 as COAS General Raheel Sahrif and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif have gave approval to hang them, followed by the Peshawar massacre on Tuesday in which drastic believers have killed 141 including 132 children by storming on an Army School.
Dr. Usman and Arshad Mehrban were among those six terrorists, who have been sentenced to death by Army court and COAS have signed their death warrants. According to media reports remaining and prisoners awaiting death sentence would be executed in coming days.
