Rahat Ali Replace Injured Junaid Khan In Pakistan Squad For World Cup
Lahore: The fast bowler Junaid Khan has been now replaced by left arm pace mane Rahat Ali. The first choice after Junaid Khan was Billawal Bhatti, who turned out to be a disastrous bowler.
Therefore, due to poor performance of Bhatti against New Zealand in an ODI, he has been called back and now Rahat Ali will be joining the 15 players’ squad in New Zealand for the mega event.
The Pakistan Cricket Board on Thursday announced that left-arm pace man Rahat Ali, will replace young Junaid Khan who cannot make to the World Cup squad due to hamstring injury.
Previously Junaid Khan was replaced by Billawal Bhatti but he gave such poor performance in the ODI match against New Zealand that the selection committee started looking for other alternatives. Billawal conceded 93 runs in 10 overs, the match turned out to be nightmare for Pakistan Cricket Team.
Rahat Ali is a left arm pace man. Rahat has taken 31 wickets in 11 test matches and is considered more of a test match player rather than a player of ODI. Rahat Ali has been recommended by chief Selector Moin Khan and the selection has been approved by Pakistan Cricket Board’s Chairman Sheharyaar Khan.
Pakistan has its first match of the event against traditional rival India. However, Pakistani team which has been more known for its bowling defence is lacking all the world class bowlers in the team at this time of the event.
The presence of world class bowlers like Ajmal, Hafeez, junaid Khan and Umer Gull will be missed immensely. As the current situation of the team does not seem hopeful but we wish Pakistan Cricket Team all the best for the mega event of World Cup and pray that they play extra ordinarily.
