Lahore: Pakistan has defeated Zimbabwe in first ODI of three match series lead by 0-1, Shoaib Malik became man of the match for smashing a tremendous century at the Gaddafi Cricket Stadium.

In the first ODI of three match series Pakistan has won the toss against Zimbabwe and elected to bat first, the openers Azhar Ali and Mohammad Hafeez has added 170 runs in first wicket partnership while Shoaib Malik and Haris Sohail scored 201 altogether bringing the total to 375 which is also the highest score from Pakistan against any team in home ground.

The skipper Azhar Ali was went to pavilion scoring 79 runs on 76 balls after caught at boundary on ball of T Panyangara, Mohammad Hafeez also follow the footsteps of captain and bold by P Utseya on total of 175 by adding 86 runs on scoreboard.

Third wicket partnership close till end of the match, Shoaib Malik and Haris Sohail smashed runs continually till the last ball, Malik has marked 112 on just 76 balls lost his wicket on last ball when H Masakadza took his catch on ball of T Panyangara while Haris Sohail left not out on 89 runs and Pakistan set a huge target of 375 against Zimbabwe.

In pursuit of chasing total Zimbabwe played very well but left failed by putting 334 on scoreboard at loss of five wickets after end of limited over game, V Sibanda and Sikandar Raza took the start and score 56 when first wicket gone which is Raza on 36 taken by Anwar Ali.

Sibanda has been went to pavilion by Wahab Riaz, H Masakadza and E Chigumbura played well and added 124 in third wicket partnership, however, Shoaib Malik has got wicket of Masakadza when he was playing on 73 following same balls.

Wahab Riaz was too good in first ODI against Zimbabwe and victimized three players at the end of game while Shoaib Malik has also made great comeback and not only scored by smashing a fast century well but also sent a player back to pavilion became man of the match.
