China Against The Terrorists Sought Help From Afghanistan
ISLAMABAD: Beijing is ready to support the Afghan government in reconciling with the Taliban, the Chinese foreign minister said Thursday, the latest sign of China’s desire to expand its role in its war-torn neighbor.
Afghanistan and its western supporters have been trying to bring moderate Taliban figures to negotiation tables to end the ever going war of terror in the region. Pakistan is considered as the key factor in playing the role to bring these figures to the negotiation tables and Pakistan has historic ties with Taliban leadership.
“We will support the Afghan government in realizing reconciliation with various political factions including the Taliban,” Wang told reporters.
According to some resources China has been taking keen interest in the negotiations deal but the details are still sketchy and not concrete and it’s still unclear that what influence China can use to persuade the Taliban to resume meaningful negotiations.
Chinese Foreign Minister has claimed that apart from Pakistan it is only China who has been able to maintain contact with Afghan Taliban leadership.
China’s is dealing with different terrorist group in different ways for instance the relationship is completely hostile towards ISIS and Pakistani Talibans whereas other groups like Al-Qaeeda, have seen political advantage in avoiding a too conflict relationship with china. China has maintained a direct relationship with afghan Taliban leadership and has figured out some working arrangements.
However, Beijing’s top priority is to ensure that Islamic Extremists do not target Chine nor do they support any other terrorist activity within the territory of China especially Uighur militants and in return it offers some degree of political legitimacy, some money, and even some arms.
Simultaneously China has reached an agreement With Mullah Omer during the Taliban’s period rule in Afghanistan which it has maintained since then. China has remained in contact with Taliban and this relation has concreted in the last few years.
