Egypt Air Strikes On Libya Targeting Isis Militants After Killings Of Christians

Egypt conducted airstrike on Libya targeting number of ISIS militants. Egypt claims to kill number of ISIL militants in its airstrike.

Egypt conducted air strike on Libya as a revenge for what ISIS did to 21 Christian Egyptians. According to Egyptian military the airstrikes were carried on Monday, and air strikes hit ISIL Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant targets. The bombing from Egyptian Military came as a reaction after ISIS had beheaded 21 Christian Egyptians in Libya.

According to the sources in the air strikes carried out by Egypt almost seven people have been killed and all of them were civilians. Out of these seven people three were children who faced death due to this bombing by Egypt.

The air strike started as Cairo vowed to find those who were responsible for beheading 21 Christian Egyptians who were kidnapped by ISIL militants. Sources told on Monday that at least seven people were killed in air strikes in the coastal city of Derna after Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi vowed to “punish” those responsible for the beheadings.

However, these raids carried on by Egypt are called act of “terrorism” by Omar al-Hassan the head of Libya’s legally installed government. He called these raids as sinful aggression. Omar further claimed to contact UN as Egypt has violated international law and has directly attacked on the sovereignty of Libya. He declared such raids as the direct act of terrorism by Egypt on Libya.

Recently the video was releases by ISIL showing the beheading of 21 Egyptian Christians by the ISIL militants. The video and the death of twenty Egyptians have been confirmed by the Coptic Church and Government of Egypt.

This is not the first act if brutality and violence carried out by ISIL in fact many such acts have been carried out by this militant wing and it seems that it is getting stronger day by day.

Egypt and France has urged the Security Council to take new measures against the ISIL and its other wings and it has further urged other countries to unite against this uprising terrorism.
