First Test Match Bangladesh VS Pakistan, Tamim Iqbal Appears Only Cause Of Match Draw
The 26-year-old Bangladeshi cricketer Tamim Iqbal rocked in first test and showed great outstanding efforts to keep his nation from defeat as became highest Test score of 206 in Bangladesh team and made all struggles of Pakistani cricketers vain with his best at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium, Khulna, on Saturday.
The first test match has ended without victory as draw, in which in second innings Bangladeshi batsmen emerged responsible cricketers as scored 555 on by losing 6 wickets and opener Tamim Iqbal appeared huge hurdle in way of Pakistani cricketers who was looking for victory final day.
Iqbal stayed at wicket so long while facing hard attacks by Pakistani bowlers and created 206 runs on 278 balls with 17/4s as well 7/ 6s and remained successful to maintain 74.10 strike rate.
Iqbal wasn’t only one who scored well, though Imrul Kayes also emerged good opener who sacked 150 on 240 by hitting 16/4s and 3/ 6s.
Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmudullah performed massive role in second innings, Hasan bagged 76 runs on 104 balls without losing wicket and Mahmudullah turned back pavilion after making 40 on 71.
Mohammad Hafeez and Yasir Shah have done tremendous efforts to achieve win but Bangladeshi batting line up destroyed their wish and ruled on wicket.
Hafeez and Shah sacked 4, 4 wickets whereas Zulfiqar Babar got two wickets and Tamim Iqbal was awarded by man of the match award.
Iqbal described after receiving man of the match award, “I am very pleased because whatever I had planned came off nicely. I needed this innings as much as my team did. It was not going to be easy after we were 296 runs behind.”
