Five Irish Students Including 6 People Dies in California Balcony Collapse
Five Irish students as well as one lady have killed after falling down from fourth-floor balcony at California’s Berkeley city, United States.
These dead bodies have been identified by authorities as 21-year-old Oliva Burke, Ashley Donohoe, 22, from Rohnert Park, California, Eoghan Culligan, 21, Niccolai Schuster, 21, Eimear Walsh, 21, and 21-year-old Lorcan Miller—these all dead were discovered with Irish identities.
It said to be that these young Irish students were thrown from a balcony of fourth-floor flat in Berkley, California, about 40ft to the ground and after collapsed couldn’t take breath till so long.
After the regrettable incident, United States’ authorities have informed the Irish government about deaths their civilians and has also contacted to victims’ families who shocked after discovering the shocking news.
According to reports, the incident took place about mid night US local time and seven other were wounded in this occurrence who are undergoing critically condition in hospital.
The police officials have been denying to tell the actual cause of the incident but the case is being investigated, though Berkeley‘s police chief has stated that they can’t say it any criminal activity because not any sign appeared yet.
However, according to photograph of the balcony, which measured a 5ft x 10ft (1.5m x 3m), placed on building’s fourth floor where they threw down to the ground.
The residents from the area informed police nearly at 00:41 local time and police chief mentioned they took almost over minute to arrive on the site and received bodies.
The students were gathered at the apartment to celebrate a 21st birthday party but no one has idea that what happened during the celebration which held close to the nearby University in a building of California.
Irish students came to United Sates on J1 working visas those who died in the incident, confirmed by Irish Foreign Affairs Minister, Mr. Charlie Flanagan.
