Singapore Teen Accused of Lee Kuan Yew Critical Video on YouTube
Singapore’s moppy-haired teenager accused of insulting country’s late founder, Lee Kuan Yew as well Christianity and to face more than three-year prison in a video online.
According to singapore court on Tuesday, Yee arrested with allegations of criticizing late leader and Christianity and reportedly posting video online in which appears talking indecent words.
The young Lee took Youtube to post his indecent statement video and in this eight minutes videotape entitled Lee Kuan Yew Is Finally Dead!, compared first prime minister of Singapore, to Jesus Christ while saying, “power-hungry and malicious but deceive others into thinking they are both compassionate and kind”.
He added, “Lee Kuan Yew was a horrible person, because everyone is scared. Everyone is afraid if they say something like that, they might get into trouble.”
In response to the video, police had registered over 19 complaints against Lee from 27 March to 29 March in respons by people who watched clip and showed great anger against this kind of indecent statement.
After many compalints, this insulting video has been deleted from Lee’s Youtube channel but some other who agreed her statement circulating the copies of the footage on social media.
The police had taken into custody him under the country’s strict hate-speech laws and video was published after the funeral of the 91-year-old founder of the nation.
The 16-year-old is appearing a top headline just because of controversial and opinionated videos—if he found guilty so could face more than three years jail.
On the other hand, a Singaporean Christian submitted a petition demanding the release of the teenager. In this application to Singapore’s government, it says like this, “Please release Amos Yee.
More than 19, 999 Christian people agreed to appeal in 24 hours while saying that they forgive Lee and wish “he have a full life of contribution to his community ahead of him.”
