Islamic State Destroyed Historical Ancient Artefacts and Sculptures in Iraq, Video Shows

A latest video was surfaced on internet, which shows the fighters of Iraq-Syria militant organization destroying ancient artefacts and Sculptures while using sledgehammers in central museum, northern city of Iraq, Mosul.

The video was released on Thursday by Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) organization, in which devastation of Assyrian and Akkadian empires statues came out wrath from the Jihadists of terror group who killing numerous in Iraq, Syria regularly.

Kino Gabriel, Syriac Military Council’s leader told media, “The birthplace of human civilization … is being destroyed”

A Christian armed force told media via telephonic conversation from Hassakeh in north-eastern Syria. The devastation was occurred in Mosul city of Iraq which captured by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) organization in last June and their advancing killing more in the nation.

The experts of Museum told the precious and antique statues fell down to grounded as well crushed using sledgehammers, these original artefacts brought from locations as Nimrud, Assyrian cities of Nineveh and Hatra’s Greco-Roman.

After this regrettable incident, head of United States cultural agency had claimed emergency meeting of Security Council’s world body.

Irina Bokova, chief in UNESCO, described in statement while condemning the act of ISIL, “This attack is far more than a cultural tragedy – this is also a security issue as it fuels sectarianism, violent extremism and conflict in Iraq,”
