Pak COAS Visit to US, Honored With US Legion of Merit Medal
Washington: Pakistan Chief of Army Staff (COAS) seven day visit to United State, conferred with US Legion of Merit for his service to peace and stability in region.
International News reported that Pakistan Army Chief General Raheel Shharif, who is on his maiden trip to US, along with DG Military Operation (DGMO) and DG ISPR Major General Asim Bajwa met with US military officials to discuss military talks.
General Raheel held meeting with Chairperson Joint Chief Staff General Martin Dempsey, Deputy Secretary of Defense Robert Work and Commander US Marines General Joseph Dunford after his visit on Sunday to the headquarters of the US Central Command (Centcom) office.
On the arrival, US troops honored him with salutes and US official conferred Pakistan COAS with US Legion of Merit Medal by acknowledging his strong and brave leadership to sustain peace and stability in the region.
According to reports, talks of Army official of both countries will help to improve military to military relation also held to discuss the role of Pakistan army with reference to Afghanistan as US troops are leaving Afghan region before coming year.
