Zimbabwe Beat Pakistan in 2nd ODI by 5 Runs via D/L Method
Harare: In second one day international of three-ODI series match Zimbabwe won by 5 runs according to Duckworth–Lewis method, match was ended over bad light conditions when two overs still left.
According to latest sports news in second one day international of three-ODI series match Zimbabwe has beaten Pakistan by 5 runs, according to Duckworth–Lewis method the match was declared in favor of Zimbabwe because of bad light conditions on Saturday.
Played at Harare Sports Club the second ODI was stopped when Zimbabwe players argued that there is not enough light to carry on the match when Pakistan requires 21 more runs on just 12 balls, Shoaib Malik was playing at 96 along with Yasir Shah who was also on crease with 32 runs.
According to local media host team Zimbabwe knew that they are going to lose the second ODI too against Pakistan, lame-excused to level the three-match series with 1-1 by ending the match following bad light conditions.
Pakistani all rounder Shoaib Malik, who is enjoying the great comeback to national team with few fine performances in last matches, was quite disappointed with the way match ended when they were very close the win the match and series too.
Malik has stated that it was not good start from Pakistan team but the way they batted at the end it is sure thing that match was in favor on Pakistan but ICC rules have to be followed and as professional players they have to give great respect to these rules at any point of the game.
Earlier, Pakistan has won the toss and elected to field, Zimbabwe has set target of 277 runs with prominent additions from CJ Chibhabha who scored 90 runs, the skipper E Chigumbura who added 67 runs and BB Chari who went to pavilion by smashing 39 runs on the ground, from bowling side of Pakistan Wahab Riaz took 4 wickets in his 10-over spell.
Pakistan start was too bad as Bilal Asif got out with no score, the captain Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq scored only one, Mohammad Hafeez could also add only 27 runs to total but Shoaib Malik and Aamer Yamin partnership of 111 runs and Malik and Yasir Shah partnership of 63 runs brought total to 256 at end of 48 overs.
Third One Day International of Pakistan Vs Zimbabwe would be played on Oct, 5 at Harare Sports Club, Harare on 07:30 GMT.
